It was July 2011; I had an appointment with Dr. Curry for an adjustment. He looked wonderful. I asked him what did he do? He proceed to tell me and said they have a class in two weeks I could come to and learn more about the diet. I told him I didn’t want to wait that long. After my adjustment I met with Lolly who told me more about the program. I start the following Monday.

I was at my all time high of 225 lbs. I have very bad knees, they are bone on bone, and I have arthritis in both knees. The last time I went to the knee specialist, he told me I need to lose weight and wrote that I was obese on my chart. I cried all the way home. I was having a hard time stepping up on a curve and it was even harder for me to take the stairs. Seven years earlier I had a heart attach. I was total embarrassed by my condition. I was only 57 and I still wanted to be active and have a full life.

I started on July 26, 2011. I have been on a lot of diets, but this one truly works. You can see the results right away. It was very easy for me to follow. But this was going to be the Last Diet I was ever going to be on. It was fun to see how big my clothes were getting on me. I have LOST 75 pounds.

It is still hard some days to look in the mirror and believe at it is really me. Now, I just need to work on my brain to realize I am a thin person. I feel wonderful. I can go up and down stairs with out any problems. I go for walks with my husband now and he is telling me to slow down.

Your health is a precious thing. Not only do I look better, but also I feel wonderful. I am in the best health of my life.

ModernLife Nutrition was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve gone through many different diet and workout programs, all worked for a while, but never lasting. This program works, but what made it a success for me was having Brent as my coach. Like any challenge, I needed motivation and support and our weekly meetings helped keep me on track. Not only did he make sure I understood the plan, but he made sure to address each and every question and concern I had from day 1 and on. I never felt helpless or discouraged, in fact his constant encouragement was what got me through and has given me the confidence to take on more challenges with a positive outlook. I lost 30 lbs., feel better physically and best of all learned how to treat my body better..for life!

ModernLife Nutrition Tips!

Use Extracts moderately to make things tastier (look for extracts without alcohol)

Limit 1- 2 diet sodas max per day! (*note: If you drink a soda then drink a big glass of water after so you do not become dehydrated) Drink more water if possible (Promote an Alkaline environment!)

Carbonated beverages without aspartame and phosphoric acid are preferable

Walden Farms Products are great for salads, marinades, etc. on our program (Find at sprouts)

Note: any products 0 carb, 0 fat, 0 sugar, such as Walden farms, should be counted as 1 gram of carbs per serving.

Remember First Week is the most difficult; this is why you get an extra box of protein!

Salads, Cucumbers, and Celery are Unlimited! (Fill yourself up with this roughage)

Sparkling water is ok, such as Perrier but we want to drink regular water first!

Caffeinated beverages are ok, but remember that each caffeinated drink will dehydrate you so you need to add an extra glass of water to counter act dehydration.

If you have problems with constipation please ask your coach for Novi-Lax (Eat your veggies, salads, and take your supplements to avoid bowel issues)

Splenda is the preferred artificial sweetener as it does not affect the metabolism

Always have an extra protein and or salad if you are hungry! (STAY IN KETOSIS)

Our Proteins are HIGH BIOLOGICAL PROTEINS that have all 8 chains of amino acids; This is very important on a weight loss protocol in which calories are lowered. Do not supplement other protein drinks because this will not suffice in maintaining muscle mass. (The ENGINE that burns calories)

Headaches are caused from dehydration and lack of sodium, use your salt shaker regularly!

Check out our website (http://modernlifenutrition.com/new-recipes/) and use the phase one approved recipes for variety. ** Also feel free to add additional spices and/or herbs to phase one approved recipes to add additional flavor, make sure that the spices and/herbs are 0 carb 0 sugar 0 fat!

1/2 teaspoon Ideal Protein Raspberry Flavored Gelatin
1/2 teaspoon of Mrs. Dash “Garlic and Herb” salt-free seasoning blend
1 Tablespoon of your favorite olive oil

Preparation:

Stir together the Ideal Protein Raspberry Flavored Gelatin and the “Garlic and Herb” Seasoning. Drizzle the olive oil over a salad and toss. Now toss and sprinkle in the combined Raspberry Dash dressing and enjoy! Tip: keep a pre-mixed dressing shaker with you to take into restaurants. Variations: create a dipping sauce by mixing in(small amounts of) lemon juice and the olive oil ahead of time. (After a while, the gelatin sets up and settles to the bottom, so stir the mixture up as you dip. It makes little globs, bursting with flavor, which sticks loosely to what you are dipping (celery never tasted so good!)

Guilt Free Italian Dressing/Marinade-(Phases 1-4)

2 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 cup White or Apple Cider Vinegar
1/4 cup Water

Combine all ingredients in a bottle (something you can shake). This can be used on salads or on your meat before cooking. This will yield 6-8 cups of salad or a whole head of lettuce. I put lettuce in a bowl with fresh veggies, pour dressing on, lid the bowl, and shake it. This will coat the lettuce nicely and the rest will go to the bottom of the bowl so you aren’t drowning the salad.
Reminds me of Olive Garden salad!
